Boiling Point

Boiling Point, directed and filmed by Johanna Jackson, is a visual representation of what happens to our emotionality when we are faced with uncontrollable stressors that keep adding up. Just like a pot of water, we feel our bodies rise in tension until we can no longer contain our feelings, resulting in reaching our boiling point. We can sense when tensions are on the rise, but we pass them off as annoyances rather than anger. We don’t acknowledge our true feelings towards a situation until it's too late. Then, we lash out, breaking walls, throwing chairs, screaming at people who realistically only added the last stressor right before the boiling point. This film is a reminder to us all to take a moment before we feel that control has been lost completely. Take a deep breath, take a walk, light a candle and stare into the flame. Solutions for our stressors come in the quiet moments. Practice turning off the radio before the signal makes you detonate. ♦
