It's Not Living
Sometimes, I have a tendency to let a song consume my life to the point where no other song exists. It doesn’t necessarily have to be right when the song comes out and actually, a lot of times, it’s not. I’ll be casually listening to an album or group of songs I love, and then hear something specifically that hasn’t ever hooked me before, but then it does, and BOOM – that’s the only song I’ll listen to for at least a week. In this case, I had been trying to make a photo zine for a while but just could not think of a concept or way to execute any of my ideas. At the time for some reason, “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)” by The 1975 was getting a lot of hype on my socials. I put it on because I hadn’t listened to it in a while, and was done with the cover before the song was over. The zine was filled with photos of my favorite people and moments around that time, because I’m not living if I’m not with them. <3 I ended up calling the project that because I couldn’t listen to any other song the whole time I was making it.
